Larisa Lunyakova’s individual project "Single Mother Families: Survival Strategies During the Period of Social Transformation in Russia", was funded by the Research Support Scheme/ OSI. In Moscow and in Rybinsk, 220 mothers raising children on their own were polled. The survey made it possible to form a realistic picture of their household budget formation, and conduct a comparative analysis of the cultural standards and life orientations of single mothers with married mothers in the capital and in the provinces.

Family; family life of women and men; women as bread-winners; divorce and separation and their influence on women's careers; typologization of families with women as family heads.
